Where are Las Palmas’ party areas?

In Las Palmas the majority of the local bars and nightclubs, are found in the two city centers:

The modern center Santa Catalina (around the beach) and the old town districts Vegueta and Triana, forming the historical center.

Both areas have their own distinct charm and a variety of pubs, cocktails bars, nightclubs and other nightlife venues (like karaoke, or hookah lounges).

What bars or clubs are worth visiting?

  • Volga: A stylish cocktail bar with probably the coolest decoration, many tabletop games and an old-school popcorn machine for a snacks
  • San Remo: The “Meeting point of all Las Palmas” – Finnish-style pub with all darts, table soccer, and a pool table, an amazing team and great social atmosphere on any night of the week
  • Tendedero de Catalina: One of the popular rooftop bars around, with a night view of the main square and a mix of young travelers and locals
  • El Gustito Latino: Hidden from most tourists’ eyes, downstairs, you find an amazing place for lovers of salsa music as well as good energy and great drinks
  • Mr. Vaho: If you want to dance reggaeton with a young party crowd, this nightclub is a hidden gem. Dark rooms, flashy lights and an insanely good atmosphere
  • Bravia: Right around the corner, is another great nightclub, with the best latin and reggaeton classics, a diverse crowd of Erasmus students and and long-time Canarian party people
  • Sentido: For fans of the big clubs with space, floors and big party crowds – this is your go-to spot for the night. Tired of the usual reggaeton? Switch the floor and check out the other tunes they have
  • La Panthère Noire: This cocktail bar, is as elegant and vibrant as the old town itself. Stylish decoration, with lots of tables on the outside corner – try out their specialty cocktails and enjoy the view around the Pérez Galdós Theatre
  • Friki Bar: For the nerdy people, this is your safe haven. A bar designed around video games, manga, comics and memes. Just like a true nerd, it’s found away from where most people are and offers many non-mainstream things, like a variety of craft beers
  • Azabache: Don’t want to pay for a disco? This bar has club music playing and people dancing in the middle, or sitting with their copas at the window tables gazing into the night.
  • Alboroto: The biggest and most well-known club in Triana, with the classics of reggaeton and latin pop, plus a big outside terrace to catch a breath of fresh ait in between dancing
  • La Biblioteca: Hidden between old colonial houses is a place named “The Library” – the typical young students answer to their parent’s “Where are you going?” – Depending on the night you can find reggaeton or other genres.
  • Bar Guincho: North of Triana, in Canalejas, you find one of those classic local spots where beers are ridiculously cheap – we’re talking like 1€ cañas. Styled like an old Canarian apartment and with a mostly local crowd it’s a great place to spend even a Monday or Tuesday night.
  • Bar Timbeque: Pretty much right next door to Guincho, so you can easily bounce between the two. Local energy, rock music, guitars on walls and enough tables to sit with your friends.
  • Talleres Palermo: Styled like your dads old garage workshop, with a lot of space and co-working area during the days – a super cool spot if you’re into a more international crowd and live music sets.
  • Paddy’s Anchor: In the north of the beach Las Canteras, you find the perfect place, if you’re looking for an irish pub – a “social living room” with Guinness, and even a pool table. Great place to start the night and chat with new people.
  • Kraken: For the alternative crowd, this is your place to go. You will find any subculture and fairytale creature lurking around on their epic parties, with any music genre imaginable: Techno, Metal, 90s -you name it!

Where can I meet people if I’m solo?

  • Hostels: If you’re planning to stay in one, many hostels have social event calendars, where volunteers organize bar nights, family dinners or rooftop parties.
